A new social media tool? That always gets our attention. ThingLink lets you make images interactive by adding links to an image or video. These can lead to more content: a YouTube video, a Pinterest photo, a Twitter stream — you name it. It has been available for Twitter for a while, but you can now easily integrate it into your Facebook timeline too. Last month, ThingLink even went mobile with an iOS app.
Another visual platform alongside Instagram, Pinterest and Flickr: what does it add? The answer is simple: content, content and… content! It brings more information together in one place. Since we like to see ourselves as storytellers, it is an ideal tool for telling a whole story in a single image. It can also encourage more interaction on Twitter and Facebook, with more likes and, over time, more followers.
The possibilities are endless: from a press release announcing a new album, to Stephen King’s new book cover or a creative Armani campaign. Naturally, we could not resist experimenting ourselves. While we prepare our first ThingLink press release, we have made a ThingLink birthday card for our colleagues at Eventive and Progress Amsterdam!
